so, the kittens are better. even starting to get friendly which is good.
mr 2 behaved himself at coffee group today which was great.
miss 4 has started to learn to read which is just so cute. we wrote her a short story yesterday using words that she can already read with just a few new ones and she's just taken off. she can pretty much read it by herslef which has given her no end of confidence.
today is cleaning day but coffee group then lunch has meant i'm seriouly behind schedule. and what am i doing about it? telling cyberspace!

Thursday

heaps better day today
kittens are better after a rush visit to the SPCA vet yesterday and some vile medication. not that i've tried it but i was warned to bundle the kittens up in towels, watch out for them spitting it back out and that it'll make them froth at the mouth. i've only had to give them 2 doses of the medication so far but 1 of the kittens has managed to bite me both times! the look of disgust on their faces is almost comical but the frothing at the mouth is positivly disturbing, thank god i was warned about it. otherwise i'd think i'd poisoned them!
both kids are home today and so far they've been good which is always nice, and unexpected!
i managed to get my 2 study lessons off in the post yesterday so i now have 4 that i am waiting to be returned. i'm looking forward to getting them back and also getting the next lessons.
i'm definatly going in and out of motivation about this course but while i'm on a roll i want to get the lessons sent back quickly to make up for the times i was less than motivated

Technorati Profile
not such a great start to the day today, miss 4 had a tantrum on the way to daycare and i don't think the teacher was very impressed by how i forcibly removed her from our car when we got there. then when i got home one of my foster kittens has poo'd on my bed (thankfully covered with a tarp, we've done this before!)
so far so good with mr 2 but the day is young!
yey i'm so pleased with myself!
i have just finished another 2 lessons of my correspondance course. normally i tend to drag my heels a bit but i only received these lessons in the post yesterday!
yey me!
now off to bed to curl up with a good book

i'm back!
this is going to be pretty addictive i think.
finally hubby and i made up last night after a totally stupid argument where from his point of view i insulted his mother and from my point of view i made a perfectly valid statement about my feelings towards my mother-in-law
i was right of course!
school holidays finally over, we are back into our normal weekly routine which is good. kids get bored without their normal activities on. i'm dreading number 1 going to school at the end of this year, at least her daycare stays open through the holidays. what do people do with kids that are used to going to school and suddenly have weeks off to do whatever they like?

i have to say, rather guiltily, that monday is my favourite day.
monday is my 'day off'. hubby at work and both kids at daycare, on monday i can do whatever i like
mostly it's not all that earth shatteringly interesting. i watch grey's anatomy and private practise recorded from last night, read a magazine or a book. eat junk food that i feel too guilty feeding my kids.
today has been great though, after picking up my 'twilight' dvd last week i got to watch it in peace and quiet (ok so it's the third time i've watched it since last wednesday but first time on my own!)
in my opinion Stephenie Meyer is a flipping genius. i'd love to write like she can, i'm trying actually. fingers crossed i get as good as she is, oh yeah, the money wouldn't be so bad either!

well i haven't started very well as i've already missed 2 days of this
i have excuses!
on friday i took delivery (well technically picked up) my latest foster kittens. 7 weeks old and pretty feral. they have spent the vast majority of their time so far hiding under the bed. i've got about 2 weeks to turn them into house cats. challenge is on!
saturday was my turn for 'me time' . hubby and i give each other a few hours time out once a month for whatever. i went to the movies and saw '17 again'. not bad but i think i was a fair bit older than the target audience. then i was going to have a wander around town but there was not much to see. i ended up walking home instead of getting hubby to pick me up. took me an hour in drizzly rain but wasn't quite as hard as i thought it would be.
i have an on again off again relationship with dieting. the old saying of 'win some, loose some' should be adapted to 'gain some, loose some' that's me in a nutshell!

So...Me

30, married, mother of 2, owner of 2 cats
Currently one of those special breed known as an 'at home mum'
A very under rated job in my opinion. Just check out people's reactions when you are first introduced.

'Hello, i'm Ms Executive, Head of the Royal Bank of NZ, i control 6,000 staff, and yourself?'
'oh, i'm Mrs Mum, head of...well my house and i attempt to control 2 small children'

not impressive when it comes to earning potential i admit but a vastly important job.

i know it's not for everyone, but doesn't everyone whose trying to do their best, deserve some positive feedback?
Well now that the important part of choosing my font is sorted, what next?
I think the 'news' for the day has got to be the PC madness surrounding small marshmallow like sweets that go by the name 'Eskimos'. Now i do not have a huge allegiance to these particular sweets being more of a chocolate girl myself but the political correctness that has sprung up in newspapers, morning tv shows, internet news and even on actual tv news is just plain crazy.
It all started with a tourist who took offence to the name Eskimo (and presumably that the sweets looks like little eskimo's too) and kicked up such a fuss she ended up being interviewed for all sorts of media outlets.
Some holiday. I guess she'll have a bit more than just boring old photo's or video of her trip. she'll have newspapers with her face on the front and copies of her news interviews.

I think, being an imported specimen myself, i might kick up a fuss. Why choose eskimo's? NZ has a far longer relationship with England where i hail from. Why haven't NZ'ers been eating little British Lions?

hmph, now i feel discriminated against
